Paul, a member of our team at Ingram Installations ran in the half marathon during the Great Manchester Run last weekend.
He did it while raising a fantastic £843* for Cancer Research UK, a charity that pioneer life-saving cancer research, fund scientists, doctors and nurses to help beat cancer sooner. They also provide important cancer information to the public.
*Update - The final total was over £1,000!
Manchester being true to reputation gave the runners a slightly wet start to their run, but thankfully the thunder storms that were expected on weather reports the night before, didn't show up.
Tens of thousands of runners have taken part in the 10k and half marathons runs this year, making The Great Manchester Run event one of the biggest running events in Europe.
Paul ran a sub-2 hour half marathon, posting a time of 1:53.40, saying, "I had no idea how hilly Mancunian Way was, until I had to run it….twice. Much easier to drive".
This was Pauls first ever half marathon, and Ingram's were happy to support him in his run while raising money for such a great cause.
